QUESTION:
After the installation of Apache Tomcat, users cannot log into Strategy Web Administrator with the default username and password. Where can users find the Web Administrator username and password for Apache Tomcat running Strategy Web Universal?
ANSWER:
During the installation of Apache Tomcat, users should be able to set up the administrator account which Strategy uses for access to the Web Administrator page. This information can be found in an xml configuration file for Tomcat. This file is located in the \conf folder. It is called tomcat-users.xml.
An example of the tomcat-users.xml can be found below:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<tomcat-users>
<role rolename="tomcat"/>
<role rolename="role1"/>
<role rolename="manager"/>
<role rolename="admin"/>
<user username="tomcat" password="tomcat" roles="tomcat"/>
<user username="role1" password="tomcat" roles="role1"/>
<user username="both" password="tomcat" roles="tomcat,role1"/>
<user username="admin" password="password" roles="admin,manager"/>
</tomcat-users>
Note there are four tomcat roles and four users. Using this information from the file, users can log onto Strategy Web Administrator with the username of 'admin' and a blank password.
