Is the communication between MicroStrategy Developer and Intelligence Server 10.x encrypted?

Users may need to ascertain the level of encryption for the communication between Strategy Developer and Intelligence Server 10.x.

As per KB3626 : Encryption in Strategy 10.x, the current level of encryption is as follows:
Client (3-tier mode client) machines to Strategy Intelligence Server 10.x:
When the user logs into a Strategy project using a 3-tier mode client such as Strategy Developer, Strategy Architect, and/or Strategy Administrator - Object Manager 10.x, the user password is encrypted using RIPEMD-160 before transmission to Strategy Intelligence Server 10.x.

Strategy Developer and Intelligence Server 10.x communication is usually carried out in a more secure environment than is the case for Strategy Web and Intelligence Server 10.x or Strategy Web server and Web client communication. However, if additional encryption is required, one should consider whether third-party encryption solutions provide a solution.

There is an enhancement request for this functionality. Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on the status of the request.

For an overview of encryption in other parts of the Strategy platform, refer to 'KB3626 : Encryption in Strategy 10.x' as described above.
