KB15453: 'Database error <>: Execute Query failed…Unknown error: SQLCODE -1585=' error occurs when attempting to create a new report or update the schema in MicroStrategy Developer against IBM DB2 UDB 8.1

This article notes a database error that can occur with DB2

SYMPTOM:
 
When either creating a new report in Strategy Developer or updating the schema, the following error occurs:

Database error <>: Execute Query failed. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. Unknown error: SQLCODE -1585
 
CAUSE:
 
This is a specific IBM DB2 UDB error. This error is caused because the page size for the IBM DB2 UDB database tablespace was set to 4K which was too small. More information about the specific error can be obtained from IBM's website:

ACTION:
 
Have the database administrator change the tablespace page size to 8K.
