KB15643: 'DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error: [DFCSCHEMA] Population Exception: The object shown in the following hierarchy no longer exists in schema' error occurs while loading schema in MicroStrategy Architect 8.1.x

SYMPTOM:
When updating the schema, selecting the option to 'Update Schema logical information' results in the following error:

ka02R000000kYpXQAU_0EM440000002FGw.jpeg

Error(s) occurred while loading schema: DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error: Population Exception: The object shown in the following hierarchy no longer exists in schema: -Link-Invalid pattern for string substitution.
CAUSE:
This issue can occur when a schema object is using an ApplySimple or other pass through function that is validating, but the syntax is incorrect due to the placeholders. Strategy only checks the syntax of the expression outside of the double quotes and not what is being run directly against the warehouse when validating the expression.

ACTION:
Check any schema objects that have been modified recently for pass-through functions such as ApplySimple statements, checking the syntax of the expressions for inconsistencies such as on placeholders. For example, #<>1 where the placeholder number is left out.
