Article outlines why available cache is not utilised when drilling to an attribute inside of an Intelligent Cube report that contains a consolidation or custom group in MicroStrategy Developer (formerly Developer) and Web

SYMPTOM:
A user has built a report with a consolidation called 'Cities', as shown executed below:

Now the user wants to test drilling within the Intelligent Cube to ensure that the cache is used when drilling to Subcategory. When right-clicking on the attribute header for Category, the new report is opened and the cache is used, as shown below:

However, when the user right-clicks on individual attribute elements and tries to drill down to Subcategory, then a new report is executed with different SQL, as shown below:

CAUSE:
When drilling on individual elements inside of an Intelligent Cube, then the row that user highlights needs to be added to the View Filter. Currently, Strategy does not support consolidation or custom Group elements in the View Filter.

ACTION:
There is an ongoing enhancement request for this functionality. Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update regarding this issue.
