KB15923: "Searching for "[object name]@[form]' returned more than one match" error occurs when running a script in Microstrategy Command Manager

Community Admin

• Strategy

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Command Manager 8.x, when a user tries to execute a script that has an attribute form as an argument for an 'EXPRESSION' tag, the error "Searching for "@' returned more than one match" appears.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce this issue in the Strategy Tutorial project:

  • Copy the Region attribute from 'Schema Objects\Attributes\Geography' folder into another location and update the schema.
  • In Strategy Command Manager 9.x, execute the following script to create a security filter that qualifies on the ID form of the Region attribute:

    CREATE SECURITY FILTER "Sample Sec Filter" FOLDER "\Project Objects\MD Security Filters" IN PROJECT "Strategy Tutorial" EXPRESSION "Region@ID=1";

  • The following execution error appears:
ka04W000000OeVsQAK_0EM440000002BWD.png
  • Searching for 'Region@ID' returned more than one match.

CAUSE:
When Strategy Command Manager 9.x runs the script, it looks for an attribute with name 'Region' that has the form 'ID' defined. In this case, since two attributes with the same name and forms exist, Strategy Command Manager 9.x is not able to decide which of the attributes to choose and throws an error to alert the user.

ACTION:
Rename the duplicated attribute to a unique name and re-execute the script.
