Strategy Integrity Manager allows the user to execute a test without having to load the graphical interface, or to schedule a test to run at specific times or dates. For example, users perform routine maintenance on the data warehouse every month. Using the Windows AT command, users can schedule a baseline-versus-project test to run every month immediately after routine database maintenance. This ensures that no reports are broken after the maintenance is completed.
Prerequisites for executing a test from the command line:
- A test should be created and saved using the graphical interface first.
- To execute an integrity test on a project, users must have the 'Use Integrity Manager' privilege for that project and the Execute permission for any reports to be tested.
- Strategy Integrity Manager can only test three-tier projects, that is, projects that are attached to a Strategy Intelligence Server. Projects in Direct Connection (two-tier) mode cannot be tested with this tool.
In order to execute a previously saved integrity test from the command line, follow the steps below:
- Create a test and save it in a particular location.
- Invoke the Strategy Integrity Manager executable MIntMgr.exe using the command line. By default, this executable is located in C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy\Integrity Manager. The syntax is:
MIntMgr.exe -f FileLocation\Filename.mtc
- Where:
- FileLocation is the path to the saved test file.
- Filename.mtc is the name of the saved test file.
- BasePassword is the password for the user specified in the test file to log in to the base project. This is not required for a baseline-versus-project integrity test.
- TargetPassword is the password for the user specified in the test file to log in to the target project. This is not required for a single-project integrity test.
For example, to run a saved single-project test file named WeeklyTest.mtc located in C:\Tests for which the password for the specified user in the base project is ABC, use the following command:
MIntMgr.exe -f C:\Tests\WeeklyTest.mtc -bp ABC
