KB17418: ‘The schema is being modified by Administrator’ message appears when attempting to edit a schema object in MicroStrategy Developer9.4.x-10.x

SYMPTOM:
The following message is returned when a user logs into a project and tries to open a schema object editor in Strategy Developer9.4.x-10.x:

 
The schema is being modified by Administrator. Do you want to open Attribute Editor as read-only?
Clicking on the details section in the above message shows the following:

 
CAUSE:
This happens when a user edits a project using Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x and does not exit out of Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x properly. The lock remains on the project even though Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x is closed.
 
ACTION:
To unlock the project, do the following:

• Go to Administration menu > Locking.
• Select the option that says Unlock Project, as shown below:
  

If the above option does not solve it, open Object Manager 9.4.x-10.x and log into the project. The below message will show:

 
The project X is currently locked by Administrator. In order to access the project you must acquire the project lock. Acquiring the lock may cause any unsaved changes made by administrator to be lost. Do you still want to access the project?
Selecting 'Yes' removes the lock from the project. The user is now able to access the Attribute Editor.
