SYMPTOM:
When troubleshooting issues and gathering details across various environments, it is often necessary to verify which exact version and hotfix of the Strategy Product suite are installed on a machine.

ACTION:
The following steps explain how this environment verification can be accomplished in a Microsoft Windows environment:

  • From the Microsoft Windows desktop, navigate to the Start menu > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  • Once the 'Add or Remove Programs' window opens the list of installed programs will load in alphabetical order. Scroll down accordingly to where the Strategy installation is visible. If there is no installation on the machine, no entry for Strategy will appear. The screenshots below display the detail of the main Strategy 10.4 installation and the Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 5 install.

Alternatively, the following steps explain how to verify which version and hotfix are installed on a Microsoft Windows system using the Strategy License Manager tool:

  • From the Microsoft Windows Desktop, navigate to Start > Programs > Strategy > License Manager.
  • When License Manager opens, click on the 'Installation History' tab. Notice how on the left there is an 'Installations' column which lists the dates where any installation change has occurred, such as modifying the installation or removing the installation. On the right there is the 'Information' column which contains version details and even which products were installed for a given installation or modification.
