This document outlines a simple way for Strategy users to check for the version number of a Netezza driver on UNIX/LINUX platforms.
It is recommended that users consult the Strategy Readme file to know the precise version of the Netezza ODBC driver that is certified for their Strategy version.
Drivers are usually installed under a folder called 'odbc', which is usually located under /opt or /usr0. If users are unsure of the location of this Netezza driver, they should consult their Database Administrator or System Administrator.

To check the Netezza driver version in Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX platforms:

  1. First, locate the installation of the Netezza driver.
  2. Under the Netezza installation, the following directories appear - /bin, /lib, /license, /sys, and /tmp
  3. Navigate to the bin directory by typing: cd bin
  4. From the bin folder, you can retrieve the Netezza driver version by typing: ./nzrev

Checking for the Netezza driver version on a Linux machine is a little different. To check the Netezza driver version on Linux platforms:

  2. Under the installation, the following directories appear - /bin, /lib, /license, /sys, and /tmp
