SYMPTOM:
Strategy Narrowcast Server 8.x services, using dynamic subscription sets, do not deliver emails or files. In the DELog the following error is found:
:2440:Information source starts to execute segment job - ServiceExecutionID InformationObjectDefinition
:5724:Segmentation Results returned with error -
:2440:Execution of all Service Segments are cancelled.
:2440:Information source is closed
CAUSE:
This issue can be caused due to an invalid dynamic subscription information object. Specifically, the report selected in the subscription information object no longer contains any attribute on the page-by.
For example, take the following report definition:
This is a valid and completely acceptable report definition to use for a subscription information object. The following images show one method for completing the subscription information object using this report:
Some time later, someone modified the report ('Subscription Information Report') and removed all of the attributes from the page-by.
When Strategy Narrowcast Server 8.x attempts to run this report it receives information back with no objects in the page-by, this is not a valid report to use for subscription information objects. Instead of attempting to process further with undesired affects the service fails.
Editing the subscription information object, when the report definition is refreshed Strategy Narrowcast Server 8.x will not even enable the 'Next >' button.
A report used as a subscription information object must have at least one attribute on the page axis.
ACTION:
In Strategy Desktop 8.x, edit the report used in the subscription information object and add the appropriate attribute back onto the page-by axis.
