KB17662: A prompted filter based off an attribute form with an ApplySimple statement returns the error 'Datatype `double` not found' in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x.

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

When running a report with a prompted filter on an attribute with an ApplySimple form, the report does not return data, but displays the following error message in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x.: 'Datatype `double` not found'.

SYMPTOM:
When running a report with a prompted filter on an attribute with an ApplySimple form, the report does not return data, but displays the following error message in Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x:

'Datatype `double` not found'

The attribute will work properly if it is displayed on a report in the grid. Copying and pasting the SQL into ODBC test tool will not return results. However, if the user manually adds single quotes into the ApplySimple statement in the SQL, the correct data will be returned without error.

CAUSE:
The attribute form's datatype is not set to 'text'.

ACTION:
Change the datatype in the column alias and Attribute Form editor to `text`.
