KB17769: In MicroStrategy Developer, metric values appear incorrectly when using a custom format and viewing in PDF

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

Metrics created in MicroStrategy Developer with a custom time format export incorrectly to PDF.

SYMPTOM:
A metric is created in Strategy Developer and contains a custom time format on values as shown below:

When the metric is placed on a report it displays correctly in Developer:

However, when the grid is exported to PDF, the metric is displayed incorrectly:

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Developer and has been logged with the Strategy Technology department.

ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.

WORKAROUND:
Use the list of predefined Categories to format the metric.
Alternatively, users can create a separate metric for each part of the time (day, hour, minute, etc.) and then use a concatenate function to combine them into a single metric value.
