KB17828: 'MISSING: Internet Information Server' error message appears when attempting to install MicroStrategy 9.x under Internet Information Server installed environment

SYMPTOM:
Strategy Install Wizard returns following error message when trying to install Strategy products under Internet Information Server (Internet Information Services) installed environment.
 

 
Message:
Strategy Subscription Portal requirements:
MISSING: Microsoft Internet Information Server Version 5.0 or greater.
The same messages are possible to appear when installing the products:
 

• Strategy Web Server(ASP.NET)
• Strategy Web Services
• Strategy Mobile Web
• Strategy Subscription Portal
• Strategy eTrainer for Web

The following picture shows Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed on the machine.
 

 
CAUSE:
This message appears when a component of Internet Information Services (IIS), 'World Wide Web Server', is not configured.
 
ACTION:
Configure World Wide Web Server correctly, as shown below:
