KB18024: Metric values are blank in a report, but the subtotal is displayed correct, when using 'Allow smart metric' totals on the metric in MicroStrategy Developer

SYMPTOM:
A report displays blank metric values but the correct subtotal in Strategy Developer, as shown below:
 

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue using the Strategy Tutorial project:
 

• Create a compound metric based on two metrics which contains a condition, as shown below:
  

• Check 'Allow Smart Metric' under Subtotal/Aggregation tab as shown below:
  

CAUSE:
The VLDB property Analytical Engine > 'Null checking for Analytical Engine' is set to 'False.'
 
ACTION:
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
 

• Go Data > Report Data Option > VLDB properties as shown in the image below:
  

• Expand Analytical Engine, then highlight 'Null checking for Analytical Engine', and set it to 'True', as shown below:
  

• Save and close the VLDB Properties windows. The report will be automatically re-executed and the data will be displayed correctly as shown in the image below:
