This article describes an issue where fixed formatting on numeric attributes does not display digits after decimal point in MicroStrategy Desktop 9.4.1 - Developer 10.x

SYMPTOM:
The format of a numeric attribute is specified as a fixed number with two decimal places. However, attribute values do not display digits after decimal point in Strategy Desktop 9.4.1 - Developer 10.x running on Korean or Japanese OS.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue in the Strategy Tutorial project:

  • Create report with a numeric attribute, for instance the Year attribute in the rows.
  • Format the Year attribute value to fixed with two decimal by navigating Format > Year > Values, as shown below:

CAUSE:
This issue does not occur with an English OS. This is a known issue with Strategy Desktop 9.4.1 - Developer 10.x installed on Japanese or Korean OS.

ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on the status of this issue.

WORKAROUND:
Apply fixed formatting to rows/columns (where the numeric attribute is allocated) by navigating to Format > Rows > Values, as shown below:

Note that this workaround may require users to apply formatting to other attributes separately in order to avoid Fixed formatting.
