KB18529: When sending out a report with a dynamic date prompt in MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server 8.1.1, duplicate emails are created even with the same date prompt answer among different subscriptions

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Narrowcast Server 8.1.1, when users send out a report with dynamic date prompts to multiple subscriptions, even all subscriptions share the same prompt answer; duplicate emails are created for each subscription.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Before reproducing the issue, go to 'E-mail' Information Transmitter and launch the editor. Next, click on 'Message Output' tab and select 'Save to File', as shown below:

The default folder is:
C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy\Narrowcast Server\Delivery Engine\SavedMail
Then follow the steps below to reproduce this issue:

  1. Create a report with one dynamic date prompt and set default answer to 'today'.
  2. Create a service and picked two subscriptions.
  3. Do NOT set the preferences for each subscription. By default, the answers for both should be 'today.'
  4. Kick off the service and go to the 'SavedMail' folder. Only one email is generated.
  5. Edit the subscription set again and pick the same prompt answer for both subscriptions. In this case, 5/08 is picked.
  6. Kick off the service again and go to 'SavedMail' folder. Two emails are generated.

CAUSE:
When answering the dynamic date prompt for the subscription, the timestamp is also taken and stored in the subscription preference. For example, if the user picks 5/8, the timestamp (ex. 11:35:20) is also picked by the system, as shown below:

This is a known issue with Strategy Narrowcast Server 8.1.1.
