Execute Query failed. Error type:ODBC error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLexecDirect. ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
CAUSE:
There are two known reasons why this error message can appear:
- The user account specified in the Copy Repository tool does not have enough privileges to run a 'CREATE' SQL statement on the database. 'CREATE' statements are run at the beginning of the process of copying a repository in order to create all of the tables where the Object Repository and Subscription Book Repository data is to be migrated. If the user account does not have enough privileges to run the 'CREATE' statements, the sql script will fail, and consequently will generate the error that the table does exist when trying to insert data into the tables.
- The database administrator did not assign enough space to the database to contain all of the tables required for both the Object Repository and Subscription Book Repository. To confirm that this is the cause the below message will appear in the DElog file:
ORA-01536: Space quota exceeded for tablespace 'XXXX'
- The above error message will not appear by default in the DElogs. In order to see detailed information in the DElogs, LEVEL_TRACE_ SQL must be turned on before reproducing the issue. In order to turn this tracing on, refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base technical notes:
ACTION:
To resolve the issue, perform the associated action to the above stated causes respectively, below:
- Make sure that the user account specified in the Copy Repository tool has privileges to 'CREATE' tables and views in the database.
- Have the DBA recreate the database tablespace with enough space to contain all of the tables.
