SYMPTOM:
When using a Netezza database instance, temporary tables are not explicitly dropped at the end of the SQL generated by reports in Strategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x.
CAUSE:
This is expected behavior. Unlike other database connection types such as SQL Server, which adds the drop table command at the end of the SQL generated by reports, this is not the default behavior of a Netezza database instance. Temporary tables will be implicitly dropped when the connection is terminated and they do not persist beyond the scope of a single connection.
ACTION:
In order for temporary tables to be dropped explicitly with a Netezza database instance, set the 'Drop Temp Table Method' VLDB property to 'Drop after final pass' instead of the default 'Do nothing.' This VLDB property can be found under 'Tables' in the VLDB properties menu.
