'Database error - Out of memory' error occurs when running certain reports in MicroStrategy Developer with Microsoft SQL Server 2000

SYMPTOM:
The following error occurs when running certain reports in Strategy Developer with Microsoft SQL Server 2000:

"Database error - Out of memory"
The following entry is created into the C:\Program Files\Common Files\MicroStrategy\Log\DSSErrors.log:

Status: Execution failed
Error: It is not possible to start the execution
Hora Inicial: 17:28:24
QueryEngine encountered error: Unknown failed.
Unable to connect. Error type: System call error.
Error communicating with connection process.
Find target process dead while waiting for reply.
CAUSE:
One of the possible cause of this report execution failure is that the Microsoft SQL Server was installed on a Windows Server 2003 32 bits and the database workload was demanding a high memory consumption. The database operational system process was reaching almost 2GB and given the fact that this version of operational system does not support a process with more than 2GB of memory ram, the report execution was aborted and the user receives an error message.

ACTION:
Contact the database administrator to resolve issue on the database side.
