This Knowledge Base article describes an issue that images do not appear when creating a service with a Flash attachment in MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server. This is because the path to the image is not correct and therefore the image does not render properly. In order to find out the exact path where MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server is looking for the image, use the tool Process Monitor.

SYMPTOM:
After building a dynamic dashboard report, users can see an image in Strategy Narrowcast Server, as shown below:

After using a relative path for the image, when the report is executed in Strategy Web, the image appears. However, when a Strategy Narrowcast Server service is created to send it as a Flash attachment, the image does not appear, as shown below:

CAUSE:
The path to the image is not correct and therefore the image does not render properly.

ACTION:
In order to find out the exact path where Strategy Narrowcast Server is looking for the image, use the tool Process Monitor. This tool needs to be running while reproducing the issue.

Process Monitor can be set to filter by the image name to avoid extra data from being displayed. Once the user tries the test with the help of the logs, the user should be able to find the location and then place the image on that folder.

Process Monitor can be downloaded using this link.
