KB19093: What is Command Manager Runtime?

Community Admin

• Strategy

Command Manager Runtime is a simpler version of Command Manager to be used by Strategy OEM customers. It allows for more flexibility in configuring an environment than just automated installers can provide.  There are no development/interactive user interfaces.  Only command line outlines and text based scripts are allowed.  No Administrator Licenses are required. Help documentation is available within Command Manager Help by going to the "Using Command Manager with OEM software" page.

The command executor only allows certain commands to run. The up to date list of commands is always available in the Command Manager help file by searching for "List of statements supported in Command Manager Runtime". Additional commands may be added with each subsequent Strategy release.

How can I install it?

Command Manager Runtime is installed along with all Strategy 9.x products (except Strategy Web) but its usage is controlled through the license key of that installation.  If the license key does not have OEM privileges then this executable cannot run.

Where is it located?

Command Manager Runtime is installed at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Strategy by default. It is an executable file called CMDMGRLT.exe. An equivalent file is located in the bin folder on a Universal install.
