Stefan Zepeda

Administrators may find it useful to be able to identify which reports are using saved template objects in the MicroStrategy metadata. To do so, Enterprise Manager can be utilized. The example below shows how after creating a few example templates and running a dataload, what report needs to be build in the Enterprise Manager project.

Administrators may find it useful to be able to identify which reports are using saved template objects in the Strategy metadata. To do so, Enterprise Manager can be utilized. The example below shows how after creating a few example templates and running a dataload, what report needs to be build in the Enterprise Manager project.

  • Using Strategy Tutorial, create the following Application Objects (Object name: contents to add):
    • Template 1: Add the Year, Call Center attributes to the rows and the Revenue metric to the columns.
    • Template 2: Add the Country and Brand attributes to the rows and the Profit metric to the columns
    • Report name: Report 1 w/Template 1: Use Template 1 for the report's template.
    • Report Name: Report 1 w/Template 2: Use Template 2 for the report's template.
    • Report Name: Report 2 w/Template 1: Use Template1 for the report's template.
(Note: Make sure to "Retain the shortcut to the template" when saving the reports.)
  • Run each report at least once to make sure that statistics have been logged.
  • Perform a manual data load with the Enterprise Manager Console as shown below:

  • In the Enterprise Manager project create a new report containing the following attributes:
    • Rows - Report
    • Page by - Template
  • Note: These Attributes are found under Attributes -> Application Objects
  • Run the previously created report and now it will display all of the reports that are using the selected page by that is currently found in the page by as shown in the following image:
