'No Candidate Child Attributes were found' error occurs when trying to add a child to an attribute in MicroStrategy Architect

SYMPTOM:
When attempting to add a child to an attribute, the following error message is produced in Strategy Architect:

ka04W000001MKkNQAW_0EM440000002EiZ.jpeg

No Candidate Child Attributes were found

CAUSE:
There is no attribute eligible to be a child of this attribute due to the fact that this attribute's columns do not share a common table with that of another attribute.

An attribute is only eligible to be a child of another attribute only if the two attributes share columns which exist in a common lookup table that can be used to join the two tables.

ACTION:
Ensure that there is another attribute that has a common column in their lookup table with the attribute you are working with.

If this is the case, ensure that the lookup table has an updated table structure. This can be done through the warehouse catalog for the project.
