When bursting on a document that uses an Intelligent Cube (created via Data Import) as a dataset, is it possible to use the {[Attribute Name]@[Attribute Form]} macro in the file name in MicroStrategy Web 9.x?

Question

When bursting on a document that uses an Intelligent Cube (created via Data Import) as a dataset, is it possible to use the {[Attribute Name]@[Attribute Form]} macro in the file name in Strategy Web 9.x?

Answer

In Strategy 9.3.x - 9.4.1 Hotfix 6, when bursting on an attribute defined in a Data Import Intelligent Cube using the [Attribute Name] macro in the file name, the attribute name is not displayed in the file name. Additionally, the following error messages can be seen in the DSSErrors.log when the bursting subscription executes.

[Distribution Service][Error] hGetAttributeIDAndFormIDByName: ERROR, cannot find attribute by name: "<Attribute Name>"
[Distribution Service][Error] hIsCurrentBurstElementsValid: group-by element is element all, skip slicing
[Distribution Service][Error] hGetAllBurstMacroValues: ERROR, burst element array dimention mismatch. lPos=-1, lElementArraySize=1

In Strategy 9.3.x - 9.4.1 Hotfix 6, it is not possible to use the Attribute Name macro in the filename of a bursted document when the document uses an Intelligent Cube create via Data Import as a dataset as the Intelligent Cube's attributes are not in the actual project schema.

However, starting with Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 7, it is possible to use the 'Attribute Name' macro in the file name of the bursted document.

The Strategy internal reference number for the issue discussed in this document is 984217.
