This technical note documents an issue that occurs when running a report services document in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.x - 10.x.

SYMPTOM:
The following error message is received when running new Report Services documents:


An error has occurred on this page.
Your request could not be processed due to a server error.
Please try again. If the problem persists, contact the server administrator.
(Sub configuration error of base: metric sub defined not found in cube of intern base error:
DSSDocumentDataPreparationTask::Run():Error when evaluating the information about the exhibition modes, Job 58855, Error Code = -2147212245

CAUSE:
This error is related to a specific metric which had been created and saved into a personal folder and all new Report Services documents which contained this metric were saved into the shared folder so that the users were able to run these Report Services documents in Web and getting this error.
 
ACTION:
In order to resolve this issue is necessary to perform one of the following actions:

  1. Grant privileges on the metrics which were created into the personal folders to the users who will use any objects related to them, run report services document, report or html documents which contain these new metrics
  2. Create and Save the new metrics into the public folders metrics so that the new metrics will inherit automatically the folders privileges.
