KB202926: Which barcode fonts are supported by MicroStrategy Web

Description
Strategy Web can be customized to accommodate specific needs for fonts used in Strategy Report Services documents and reports.
Fonts can be added through customization of Strategy Web in order to make them available in the text formatting options available to the end users.
Not all available barcode fonts are supported. Currently, free barcode fonts such as “3 of 9 Barcode” and “Code 128” are not fully supported in Strategy Web and depending on the browser, display issues may affect barcode font rendering.
Commercial fonts are compatible with Strategy Web - an example commercial font is available under following link .
Action
The following steps must be performed to add a new font to Strategy Web.

• Create new plugin in Web Customization Editor (WCE)
• Strategy Web Configuration -> System Pickers -> fontPicker
• Right-click, New Shortcut and user pkrFONTNAME. For example:
  
  

• A new tab will open in the WCE. Select “Advanced Properties”:
  
  

• Under “Attributes”, click “Add…”.
• Add the name “style” with the value “font family:IDAutomationSC128L Demo”
• Add the name “value” with the value “IDAutomationSC128L Demo”:
  
  

• Save the new fontPicker.
• Restart Strategy Web.

Test the barcode font in Strategy Web:

• Create a new document in Strategy Web.
• Add a textbox.
• Select the new textbox, and under Format, select the new font:
   
  

• The barcode font should display immediately:
  
  

 
Note: If the font doesn’t show after these changes, clear the browser cache.
