• Strategy

Customization guidance for displaying a custom message instead of the standard wait page content, when an action is executing in MicroStrategy Web.

A user may want to display only his/her custom message and remove everything else in the report wait page as shown below. This can be done with Strategy Web SDK 9.4.x.
Before Customization:

After Customization:

Follow these steps to remove all components of the wait page for reports and only display a custom message:
1. Create a transform that extends the ReportGridTransformImpl class
2. Override the renderProcessingInfo and renderProcessingInfoSubtitle methods.
3. For renderProcessingInfoSubtitle, leave it empty or with only the return statement.
4. For renderProcessingInfo, add the code to create the custom message to display. A sample implementation is shown below:

Tag tag= getTagsFactory().newTag("label");
tag.addTextChild("This is my wait page");
tag.render(out) ;

5. Use this new transform for the ReportGridStyle.
6. Follow KB189773 from step 8-13 but apply the change to the ReportGridStyle instead.
7. Restart the application server.
The example provided in this document is provided “as-is” and user has read the following customization warning:
