KB20353: After changing the description for a project in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and above, the old project description still displays in MicroStrategy Web.

SYMPTOM:
After changing the project description for a project via Project Configuration in Strategy Developer 9.4.1, users notice that the project description does not appear updated in the projects page in Strategy Web. Instead the old project description displays.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Use the following steps to reproduce this behavior in the Strategy Tutorial Project:

• In Strategy Desktop, right click a project whose name needs to be changed and navigate to Project Configuration > Project Description > General tab.
• In the Description box, enter the new description desired. Click OK.
  

• The description will now be updated and will always display as such from the Strategy Desktop interface. Open up a browser and go to Strategy Web and notice that the description is not updated.
  

CAUSE:
In order to have the project description properly update in Strategy Web, the Strategy Intelligence Server needs to be restarted.
 
ACTION:
Restart the Strategy Intelligence Server to see the new project description in Strategy Web.
