KB203832: Folder and object browsing is slow for particular environments in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x

Folder and object browsing is slow for particular environments in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x

SYMPTOM: When browsing through folders in Strategy Developer 9.4.x, users notice that certain environments are very slow to respond and load.

CAUSE: One potential cause of this issue is missing indexes and primary keys within the metadata tables.  By design when creating the Strategy metadata, table indexes and table primary keys are created.  These help to optimize the performance of the database when being queried.  If these indexes and keys are removed performance issues will be seen.
Additionally, the removal of primary keys from the metadata database can lead to unforeseen behavior with the metadata.

ACTION:  Please contact Strategy Technical Support for assistance in identifying if missing table indexes or primary keys are at fault.
