It is found that if a training metric is inserted via Training Metric Wizard to a report that is with subtotal enabled, its value will change with its position.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create a Quarter Index metric using the syntax as below:
((Max(Quarter@ID) {~} - (10 * Max(Year@ID)) {~} ) + ((Max(Year@ID) {~} - 2010) * 4))
2. Create a report with Year, Quarter, Quarter Index and Revenue;
3. Enable subtotal in the report;
4. Insert a linear regression training metric by following the steps in screenshots below:
(a) Choose Linear Regression:
(b) Choose Quarter Index metric created at step 1 to be the Independent Metric:
(c) Keep default setting:
(d) On summary page click Finish:
5. On clicking finish, the result is as below;
6. Move training metric to the right, the values change a lot;
7. If subtotal is not enabled in step 3, then the values of training metric do not change with the position.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Analytics Developer 9.4.1.
ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
