KB20581: How to create a report that highlights the newest data in MicroStrategy Developer

The following procedure describes how to create a sample report that highlights the newest data. In this example, recent 1 week data is marked using threshold. Sample report (executed at Feb 17th):

• Create a filter having qualification on day attribute, and save as TodayMinus1WeekF.

• Create a metric that retrieves the qualification data created in step 1, and save as qualificationM.
  

• Formula: Max(Day@ID)
  Level(Demensionality): Day (Filtering - standard, Grouping - None)
  Condition:
  Transformation: nothing
  

• Create a new threshold metric, and save as thresholdM.
  

• Formula: Max(Day@ID)
  Level(Demensionality): Day (Filtering - standard, Grouping - standard)
  Condition: nothing
  Transformation: nothing
   
  
• Create a sample report Row: Day
  Column: Revenue, qualification, thresholdM
  

• This report is executed on Feb 17th. And today minus 1 week is Feb 10th.
   
  
• Create two thresholds on thresholdM to notify a user recent 1 week data.
  

• Execute the sample report with qualification.
  

• With OLAP option, qualification can be removed from template object as seen below.
