Changes to the VLDB properties at the database instance level are not inherited after an Intelligence Server restart in MicroStrategy.

SUMMARY
This technical note outlines an issue where certain database-instance level VLDB properties are not being applied to the SQL Engine.
 
SYMPTOM
Users will experience an issue when modifying database instance-level VLDB properties where any changes made to the VLDB properties such as Column Pattern. After making the modification and restarting the Intelligence Server, the SQL Engine will disregard any changes made in the database instance.
 
CAUSE
The root cause of this issue is unknown, however it is related to issues with configuration-level objects in the metadata.
 
ACTION
Contact Strategy Technical Support for assistance with this issue. This issue is related to an unexpected behavior in the metadata, so a backup of the metadata will be required to properly troubleshoot this issue.
