KB211194: Object description as tooltips is not available in Visual Insight grids in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 and above.

SYMPTOM:
Users find tooltips not available in Visual Insight grids, although "Show object descriptions as tooltips in grid" is enabled in Web Preferences in Strategy Web 9.4.1 and above.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• Add description to an attribute, for instance Year.
  

• Enable the "Show object descriptions as tooltips in grid" option at "Web Preferences -> Project Defaults -> Grid display".
  

• Create a report and the attribute description is displayed as a tooltip.
  

• Create a visual insight and add Category to the grid. Tooltip is not visible.
  

 
CAUSE:
Object descriptions in tooltips are not supported for Visual Insight.
 
ACTION:
This feature is being reviewed by our Technology team and it is not currently scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
