From MicroStrategy, the attributes or metrics from different datasets can be placed in one grid in report services document in Web.

From Strategy, the attributes or metrics from different datasets can be placed in one grid in report services document in Web. To take advantage of this feature, follow the below steps to group multiple metrics into two metric selectors:

  1. Divide the dataset which has multiple metrics to two datasets R1, R2: both grids have the same attributes, but R1 only contains M1 group metrics and R2 only contains M2 group metrics.
  2. Add R1 and R2 to document.
  3. Drag R1 to document as grid. Create a metric selector S1.
  4. Drag R2 to document as grid. Create a metric selector S2.
  5. Insert a new grid which contains the attribute and all metrics from M1 and M2 groups.
  6. Set the selectors S1 and S2 to target the three grids at the same time. At this stage, all metrics are available in both S1 and S2, but the order is different. For S1, M1 ranks before M2; for S2, M2 ranks before M1.
  7. Resize the selectors to ensure that S1 only displays M1 group and S2 only displays M2 group.
  8. Right mouse click on the first two grids (from R1, R2 respectively). Uncheck "visible" to hide them.

Notice that, in Step 8, don't delete these two grids directly, which will disorder the metrics in selectors.
