This technote shows how administrators can configure MicroStrategy Web to show the recently executed reports and documents in the MicroStrategy Web Homepage when setting "Add reports and documents to my History List" to "Automatically".

Summary

In Strategy Web, administrators can configure Strategy Web to show the recently executed reports and documents in the Strategy Web Homepage. This functionality takes advantage of the history list repository kept by the Strategy Intelligence Server. 
 

Configure Strategy Web to add to History List automatically

  • In Strategy Web, access the Strategy Web preferences using the administrator user.
  • In the Web Preferences select Project Defaults > History List.
  • In this preference menu, select Automatically add to History List as shown below:

  • The setting above will add all user executions to the History List for future examination.

Configure Strategy Web to show the History List messages in the Homepage

  • In Strategy Web, access the Strategy Web preferences using the administrator user.
  • In the Web Preferences select Project Defaults > General
  • In this menu set the Default Start Page.
    Strategy Web Administrators have two different start pages that show the history list messages as shown below:
