KB216058: “Object doesn't support property or method 'join’” JavaScript error is displayed when clicking one of the Sparklines on graphs created by following the Out-of-the-Box AJAX Sparkline sample in MicroStrategy Developer Library 9.4.1.

SYMPTOM:
An example of how to integrate Strategy with Google Graphs or with any other web-based graphs, where the data from which the graphs are constructed, are passed from Strategy is described in the following section in Strategy Developer Library 9.4.1:
Home > Visualization SDK > Visualization Samples > DHTML-based Visualization Samples > Custom Samples > AJAX Sparkline
User may notice that an“Object doesn't support property or method 'join’” JavaScript error is displayed when clicking one of the Sparklines on graphs created by following the Out-of-the-Box AJAX Sparkline sample, as shown in the image below:

Strategy client-side error log:

Object doesn't support property or method 'join’
  at mstrGridReport.makeSelection
  at unknown {
if(Strategy.bone

The following steps show how to work around the error when clicking the selector.

Step_1
Change the following code in ImageTag getSparklineImageTag(String attName, List vals) method in SparklinesTransform.java
From

imgTag.setAttribute("onclick", "if (Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "') && Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "').makeSelection) Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "').makeSelection('" + attName + "');");

 To

imgTag.setAttribute("onclick", "if (Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "') && Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "').makeSelection) Strategy.bone('" + getBoneId() + "').makeSelectionByName('" + attName + "');");

Step_2
Add <ActualParameter> child nodes to change the parameter of the transform.
The modified styleCatalog.xml is like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE StyleCatalog SYSTEM "styleCatalog.dtd">
<StyleCatalog version="2.0">
  <TransformDefns>
    <TransformDefn name="SparklinesTransform"/>
  </TransformDefns>
  <Styles>
    <Style description="" name="SparklinesStyle" transform="SparklinesTransform">
      <ActualParameters>
      <ActualParameter name="renderElementListOnSelectionDataJson" type="4" value="true" />
      </ActualParameters>
      <Layouts>
        <Layout layout_source="AppLayoutSourceFile"><!]></Layout>
      </Layouts>
    </Style>
  </Styles>
</StyleCatalog>

Another JavaScript error occurs after going through the above steps. This is a known issue described in the following technical note. The workaround for this error is outlined in the technical note:
KB47616: Javascript Errors Occur With the Store Layout DHTML Visualization Sample As-Is Using the MicroStrategy Web SDK 9.4.1

Strategy client-side error log:

Unable to get property 'dsTargets' of undefined or null reference
  at unknown function
(unitID,controlKey,elementsList,targetKeys,usePartialDisplay,control
  at unknown function(values,attId,anchorObj,ac)
  at unknown function(value,attId,anchorObj,ac)
  at unknown {
if(Strategy.bone

The selector works correctly after applying the workaround in the technical note, as shown in the image below:
