Community Admin

• Strategy

Apple devices allow, with just a touch of the Home button, unlocking your iPhone or iPad by using the Touch ID sensor in the Home button. Starting with Strategy iOS Mobile 9.4.1 Update 5 and Strategy 9.4.1 HF1, it is possible to take advantage of this feature when using the Strategy re-branded application.

To find a list of Apple devices that have the Touch ID feature as well as steps to enable this feature on the device, visit the link below:
Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad

Strategy iOS 9.4.1 Update 5 application can prompt for Touch ID  or pass code when performing two actions:

  1. Launching the Strategy 9.4.1 Update 5 app
  2. Executing a Report or a Document

This tech note provides the steps to get prompted for Touch ID/pass code when the user launches the Strategy app.

  • Fill the information required in Connectivity Settings
  • Save the configuration.
  • Modify the configuration xml that gets generated at the following location "..\WEB-INF\xml\mobile. Files typically have names as "mobileConfig-<ConfigurationID>. To identify which mobile configuration to edit, use the timestamp of when the file was last modified or look for the name of the configuration in the xml:

    <cnf n="TouchIDConfiguration" cid="c9abd85b-1697-4ef3-a389-753e6c894e53" v="1" bld="9.4.1140.0038J" dt="1" cntr="10"

  • Add the following key-value pair to the xml inside the <gnl> tag.

    <daip v="true"/>

     The xml should look similar to this:

    </cty><gnl><daip v="true"/><atc v="1"/><ac v="2bacfe"/><ml v="250"/><nt v="60"/><mcs v="25"/><ll v="12"/><mls v="50"/><uas v="true"/><usc v="true"/><usl v="true"/><usd v="true"/><fc v="true"/>

  • Copy the xml
  • Replace the xml inside the Preferences.xml file of the xCode project with the xml of the configuration just created. For more information about preconfiguring Strategy Mobile, click this link: Pre-configuring MicroStrategy Mobile
  • Re-compile the app with this new xml baked into the application.
