KB217537: Tables IS_PROJECT_FACT and IS_SESSION_FACT cannot be found in the MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager Warehouse

Community Admin

• Strategy

Tables IS_PROJECT_FACT and IS_SESSION_FACT cannot be found in the MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager Warehouse.

SYMPTOM
Tables IS_PROJECT_FACT and IS_SESSION_FACT cannot be found in the Strategy Enterprise Manager Warehouse.

CAUSE
Both IS_PROJECT_FACT and IS_SESSION_FACT are created as views based on some Strategy Enterprise Manager Warehouse tables. A view is the result set of a stored query on the data, which is a virtual table computed or collated dynamically from data in the database when access to that view is requested. So, views cannot be found from the database table objects.

For example, the view IS_PROJECT_FACT is defined as below:

CREATE VIEW IS_PROJECT_FACT(

EM_RECORD_TS,

EM_LOAD_TS,

IS_SESSION_ID,

IS_SERVER_ID,

EM_USER_ID,

IS_PROJ_ID,

IS_PROJ_LOGIN_NBR,

DAY_ID,

HOUR_ID,

MINUTE_ID,

IS_REPOSITORY_ID)

AS

SELECT MIN(EM_RECORD_TS),

MIN(EM_LOAD_TS),

IS_SESSION_ID,

MIN(IS_SERVER_ID),

MIN(EM_USER_ID),

IS_PROJ_ID,

COUNT(IS_CONNECT_TS),

MAX(DAY_ID),

MAX(HOUR_ID),

MAX(MINUTE_ID),

IS_REPOSITORY_ID

FROM IS_PROJECT_FACT_1

GROUP BY IS_SESSION_ID, IS_PROJ_ID, IS_REPOSITORY_ID

;

Looking at the SQL regarding the creation of this view: it consists of several columns, which are defined against table IS_PROJECT_FACT_1 as following:

EM_RECORD_TS > MIN(EM_RECORD_TS)

EM_LOAD_TS > MIN(EM_LOAD_TS)

IS_SESSION_ID > IS_SESSION_ID

…

IS_PROJ_ID > IS_PROJ_ID

IS_PROJ_LOGIN_NBR > COUNT(IS_CONNECT_TS)

…
