Introduction
Refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document for details on the error message encountered when users attempt to connect to Amazon Redshift using the certified 32-bit Strategy ODC Driver for PostgreSQL Wire Protocol, from Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 6 running on a Linux operating system.
A certified 64-bit driver is available on Strategy Secure Enterprise Platform 10.
KB211968: "The Connect Series for ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver is only licensed to connect to PostgreSQL databases" error message is encountered when attempting to establish a connection to Amazon Redshift in Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 6
 
The support status is as follows:
The Strategy ODBC Driver for Amazon Redshift Wire Protocol Amazon Redshift is certified with Strategy 9.4.1. This support status currently applies to Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 running on Linux operating systems - it does not apply to Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 running on Windows, AIX, HP-UX or Sun Solaris operating systems.  Also, this support status currently applies to warehouse configuration only - it does not apply to Metadata, Statistics or Narrowcast Server.
 
In Strategy Secure Enterprise Platform,
the Strategy ODBC Driver for Amazon Redshift Wire Protocol Amazon Redshift is certified with Strategy 10.0 and above. This support status currently applies to Strategy Intelligence Server 10.x running on Linux and Windows operating systems - it does not apply to Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 running on AIX, HP-UX or Sun Solaris operating systems.  Also, this support status currently applies to warehouse configuration only - it does not apply to Metadata, Statistics or Narrowcast Server.
 
This is a post-certification since the testing was performed after the release of Strategy. Therefore, the certification information (tabulated below) is not present in the Strategy 9.4.1 General Information Readme file (the information below has been added to Strategy 10. In order to use Amazon Redshift as a warehouse with Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 or Strategy Intelligence Server 10.x, users should use the DBMS object for Amazon Redshift.
 
Additionally, users of Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 should contact Strategy Technical Support in order to receive the Strategy ODBC Driver for Amazon Redshift Wire Protocol Driver Update Patch. Refer to the following technical note for instructions on installing the driver:
