SUMMARY:
This technical note documents how to designate the correct file location for file subscriptions based on the File Device in Strategy 2021
SYMPTOM:
After specifying a File Location in the File Device, subsequent file subscriptions are not sent to the designated location.
CAUSE:
The file location designated in the file device must be accessible by Strategy before it is recognized as a valid file location. Users should ensure that the folder permissions allow this access.
In addition, this could be caused by enabling the "Allow and append user entered path" option. This check box provides users an option to enter a file location when they subscribe to a report or document from Strategy Web. When this option is enabled, the specified file location is used as a backup location, and any user-specified file location at the time of the file subscription overrides this file location field.
ACTION:
Ensure that the designated file location has the required permissions and remains accessible by Strategy. In addition, disable the "Allow and append user entered path" option in order to send report subscriptions only to the specified file location.
