KB221600: Mobile connections in User Monitor are not timing out in MicroStrategy 9.x

SYMPTOM
Mobile user connections are not timing out according to the 'Web user session idle time' governing setting.
 
CAUSE
This is expected behavior. Mobile user sessions are governed at Intelligence Server level. This means the 'User session idle time' setting will govern mobile user sessions.
To confirm 'User session idle time' governs mobile user connections perform the following test:

1. Set the Web user session idle time = 1
2. Set the User session idle time = 120
3. Restart the Intelligence Server
4. In Developer navigate to the User Connection Monitor. In Developer: Administration > System Monitors > User Connections
5. On the mobile client run a job, note the time and mentally add 2 minutes
6. Refresh the 'User Connection Monitor' to see the latest entry
7. Refresh the 'User Connection Monitor' in 15-second intervals

Notice that the mobile connection times out 2 minutes after step 5.
This test confirms that Mobile user session are governed by the User session idle time setting.
 
ACTION
When modifying idle timeout rules with respect to mobile use the 'User session idle timeout setting'.
