MicroStrategy Intelligence Server running as service doesn’t show in the service list when using command “chkconfig --list” on Unix/Linux platform

SYMPTOM:
The command “chkconfig --list” is used to list out the runlevel  services on Unix/Linux platform. However, Strategy intelligence server running as service does not show in the service list when this command is executed.
CAUSE:
Chkconfig is an optional tool to update and query runlevel information for system services. Strategy installation does not use chkconfig to add intelligence server service or strictly follow the grammar rule of chkconfig. So “chkconfig --list” cannot show i-Server service.

WORKAROUND:
To check if Strategy Intelligence Server process is running as service, users can use command “ps –ef | grep –i mstrsvr” to query information.
