This document discusses about a known issue that custom date format "ddd-d" displays incorrectly in MicroStrategy Mobile iOS application.

SYMPTOM:
The custom date format "ddd-d" renders incorrectly in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 iOS Update 6 for iOS 8. In Strategy Web 9.4.1, the first custom day date that displays (e.g. Fri-1) will render in Strategy Mobile as "40179", as shown below:
In Strategy Web 9.4.1:

In Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 iOS Update 6:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps in a Strategy Tutorial:

  1. Create a report with the attribute Day and the metric Profit.
  2. Change the custom format of Day to "ddd-d" to make the date display as "Sat-2".
  3. Open the report in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 iOS Update 6.
  4. Notice Sat-2 displays as "40180".

CAUSE:
This is a known limitation in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1. Custom formatting has to be designed into the Strategy Mobile app one by one; they are added upon request. A request has been logged to address this issue.

ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.

The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is 1007263.
