This KB addresses an issue seen when trying to export custom format to CSV and Excel plain text in MSTR 9.4.x.

SYMPTOM:
▲ is one of the symbols used in Japanese to show negative values. When there is a metric with custom formatting: "[<0]"▲"##,###,##0;[>=0]##,###,##0", an extra – is added when exporting to CSV and Excel with plain text.
For example, -123456 will be displayed as ▲123,456 on the report, but exported as "-▲123,456" to CSV and Excel with plain text.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy 9.4.x.

ACTION:
This issue has been fixed and confirmed for Strategy 10.4 Platform Release.

The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this KB is 849496.
