• Strategy

SUMMARY:
This technical note documents how to resolve discrepancies in licensing while updating license keys.

SYMPTOM:
After successfully applying a new license key, users will run an audit report on the Intelligence Server machine and see that the licenses do not reflect the new license key. Instead, the audit report shows the old licensing from the previous key.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy 9.x.

ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update of the latest status on this issue.

WORKAROUND:
The below workaround should be used when applying license keys from the same product version.
1) Update the local license key using the previous key.
2) Once this has been completed, re-apply the new license key.
3) Activate the server installation
4) Run an audit report in which the new licensing will now be correctly shown

The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is 876364.
