Strategy makes every effort to meet our customers' needs in order for their Strategy Business Intelligence Systems to operate properly. The Strategy Product Suite can be integrated with virtualization software. Strategy products are expected to function properly in these virtual environments and no major issues are known at this time.

Strategy Technical Support aids in the deployment of Strategy's platform with these components. If an issue occurs with Strategy software in a virtualized environment, the customer may log a case with Strategy Technical Support for their system. As with any third party software, Strategy requires that the customer properly configure the software before reporting the issue to Strategy. If the issue determined to be a Strategy issue, Strategy Technical Support will recommend appropriate action items. In the event that Strategy Technical Support determines that the problem is not caused by Strategy, then the customer will be asked to contact the appropriate vendor and log a support case with the vendor to resolve the issue. In instances where it is unclear if an issue is caused by Strategy, Strategy Technical Support may request customers to reproduce the problem outside the virtualization environment.

Customers who wish to proceed with using these applications should ensure that the application is deployed on a configuration that is listed as supported or certified in the "Certified and Supported Configurations" section of the applicable Strategy Product Readme and Release Notes. The customer must also use a version of the virtualization software supported by its vendor.
Strategy does not certify specific virtualization platforms. However, if problems are encountered with Strategy in a virtualized environment, Strategy Technical Support will troubleshoot the issue and aid in determining the cause. As a third-party component, Strategy operation under a virtual environment is supported, but not the virtualization software itself. To receive support, customers must ensure that the application is deployed on a configuration that is listed as supported or certified for the applicable Strategy product.
Please see Platform Certifications to view a list of supported and certified configurations for your Strategy version.

The virtualization software being used must also be supported by its vendor, as Strategy does not support configuration of the software itself. Only Strategy operations are supported.
Additionally, if Strategy software is used within a virtualization environment, its usage is subjected to the same licensing terms as usage on actual physical machines. It is important to note that for licensing purposes the Strategy software will only count the number of physical processors and check the clock-speed of the physical processors on the machine, in a virtualization environment. Strategy software does not recognize the sharing of processors or clock-speed across the different virtualization environments that reside on the same physical machine.
