SUMMARY:
This document shows an error which appears when running Project Merge in command line with a source project in a Microsoft Access database. One possible cause is that the DSN pointing to Microsoft Access metadata is manually and incorrectly created in the registry editor. Creating one new DSN with MicroStrategy Connectivity Wizard or Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator can resolve this issue.
SYMPTOM:
Suppose a 2-tier project source is pointing to a source metadata which is in a Microsoft Access database. The following Project Merge xml is supposed to merge the source project in this metadata to another project:
.jpg&w=3840&q=100)
The following error may appear if running Project Merge in command line with the xml file above as shown below:
.jpg&w=3840&q=100)
CAUSE:
One possible cause is the DSN connecting to the Microsoft Access metadata is manually and incorrectly created from scratch in the registry editor and could not be recognized by MicroStrategy.
ACTION:
Create one new DSN and let it point to the source metadata with MicroStrategy Connectivity Wizard or Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator.
