• Strategy

In MicroStrategy, each grid in a document has a node key which is useful to identify the grid. This node key can be found in different ways. One way of getting the node key is by using the RWExecute task.

SUMMARY:
In Strategy, each grid in a document has a node key which is useful to identify the grid. This node key can be found in different ways. One way of getting the node key is by using the RWExecute task. When using this task, you'll get back XML that contains the grid key as well as the grid name as shown below:

<report_data_list id="087F424E414DE4A9CEED2790C45BD20F" scp="4" crt="1425578228000" name="test rwexecute">
<prs><pr v="" n="VisProps" psn="Visualization"></pr></prs>
<report_info_list><report_info id="W46" name="Quarter/Revenue report"></report_info>
<report_info id="W47" name="Year only report"></report_info></report_info_list>
<report_data locc="US" id="W46" locid="1033" name="Quarter/Revenue report" locl="en" istab="1">
<prs><pr v="0" n="LongNames" psn="Template Formatting"></pr>
<pr v="" n="WidgetProps" psn="FormattingWidget"></pr></prs><styles><style id="c13_W46">

It is also possible to retrieve this key from an iOS custom widget. The code to get the node key for a grid is shown below:

DSSRWIterator *iterator = self.widgetHelper.mpIterator;
    DSSRWNode *node = iterator->getRWNode();
    std::string nodeKey = node->getKey();
    NSString *nodeKey2 = [NSString stringWithCString:nodeKey.c_str()encoding:[NSString defaultCStringEncoding]];
    NSLog(@"%@", nodeKey2);

You can use the node key to find a specific grid in your custom widget class.

The example provided in this document is provided “as-is” and user has read the following customization warning:
