SUMMARY
This issue is found in Strategy Web 9.4.1 and is currently classified as an enhancement request. It affects the display of attribute element information and may confuse some users unless the overall design of the document or dashboard is changed. The root cause of this behavior appears to be tied to the grid style, and the actual change is the opacity setting. To revert the opacity to normal, the user needs to click outside the grid to de-select the cells. An enhancement request has been logged to see if there's an alternate way to prevent this from happening, possibly with a change in the coding for the autostyles.
DESCRIPTION / SYMPTOM:
A user is using a grid as a selector for a panel containing filtered information, such as a map. When the user clicks on a grid element, the element is highlighted and the information on the panel dynamically changes, as expected. However, when the user clicks on another element, the first element stays highlighted. The information in the panel still changes as expected, but more than one element is highlighted, which causes confusion for the user.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

CAUSE
This is a known issue; however, it is not on the Strategy side. Ideally, a selection should be un-highlighted when another selection is made. However, when selecting a cell, the previously selected element still retains a different shade, as well as the newly selected cell with a different shade. The shade is governed by an in-line style opacity setting in the back-end CSS. You would have to Inspect Element in the browser on the grid to see it.
ACTION:
The only known solution has been to alter the opacity setting manually in the CSS for the autostyle. This is considered a customization that Technical Support would not be able perform, but it is possible. Also, changing the autostyle to something that doesn't use more than 3 colors will eliminate this issue. Finally, an enhancement request has been logged to allow users to adjust the opacity on autostyles in Strategy.
WORKAROUND:
Other than the information stated above, the quickest workaround would be to change the design of the document or dashboard so that there is extra empty space for a user to click. When clicking off the grid and into empty space, the grid opacity goes back to normal and the selected elements appear as they were meant to.
